Nepalgunj
Chamber of Commerce (NgCCI), was established in the year
1967, as non political and not for profit making private
sector organization for promoting, safeguarding rights and
interest of business community of Banke district. It is one
of "A" Category member of Federation of Nepal Chamber of
Commerce and Industry (FNCSI), an apex body of private
sector in Nepal. Altogether it has 1048 members.
It is located in mid western region of Nepal in Banke
district, considered as trading hub of the region. Trade,
industry and agriculture are main sector of the local
economy.
OBJECTIVE/ACTIVITY
- To safeguard rights, interest and privilege of its
members and business community.o To promote trade and
industries in the around of Banke district.
- To represent the views of its members and business
community on making different policies, plans and programs
through regular dialogue with concerned bodies or
stakeholders.
- To enhance the capability of its members and entrepreneurs
through different activities through trainings, seminar,
workshop
o To develop the network, with local national and
international organizations for the benefit of business
community and society as well.
- To organize trade fairs and exhibition for the promotion
of local products and helping its member to participate in
similar events organized by other agencies at national and
international level.
- To disseminate relevant information for the betterment of
the business and industry.
- To participate in different social activities to uplift
people's living standard.
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
The general assembly is the supreme body of the chamber
which has rights to design policies and strategies. A
25-member Executive Committee leads the chamber. Convention
of the chamber elects one president; the vice president and
16 executive members, rest 6 are nominated from general
members in every three year. The executive board is composed
of six office bearers and 19 members. The teams of office
bearer are president, secretary general, and deputy
secretary genera and treasurer. The committee is fully
responsible for planning implementation, supervision and
control of all activities of the chamber.
To carry out specific function of the chamber effectively,
sub- committees are formed. There are eleven sub committees.
SECRETARIAT
Secretariat works under the general guidance and
supervision of the secretary general. Altogether there are
18 staffs including one program officer under the chamber
partnership program. The administrative functions are
supervised by the office in-charge.
Chamber has its own building at the city centre. The
chamber building consists of a conference hall, an
exhibition hall, training hall and an executive committee
meeting hall. Its secretariat is well equipped with modern
means of office management and communication like computers,
fax and internet access.
MEMBERSHIP:
Any firm, company, corporation or any sector related to the
business registered with any government agencies shall apply
for the chamber membership in a prescribed format. If the
required document fulfill in line with the stature,
membership would be provided by secretariat.
Types of membership
General member: Those firms, companies, corporation
registered with any government agencies and belong to trade
and industry; shall be the general member of NgCCI
Associated: The firm registered in the government body
having more than 5 million rupees on authorized capital is
awarded as associated member.
Affiliated: The product association recognized by
government body would be awarded as affiliated member.
Honorary: Awarded to those persons or organization doing
outstanding contribution for the chamber and development of
trade and industry.
Foreign: any foreign companies or organizations can be
awarded membership of NgCCI if they are found eligible by
the executive committee.
SERVICE OFFER:
o Provide various need based trainings(management & skill)
o Disseminate agro product price information
o Information dissemination like custom duty, excise, agro
and herbal products price.
o Issue certificate of origin of Nepalese products
o Resolve business disputes of members.
o Rental facilities for conferences, public gatherings and
social events
o OHP and Photocopier service(only members)
o Recommendation for registration and renewal of a firm

PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM WITH OTHER ORGANIZATION:
Chamber Partnership Program(CPP):
CPP is a joint project between Pokhara Chamber of Commerce
and Industry (PCCI) and Handwerkskammer Rheinhessen (HWK),
Mainz/Germany in participation with Baglung, Tanahun,
Lamjung and Nepalgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The
program is in operation since January 2004. NgCCI is one of
the active partner chambers of CPP.
The program supports NgCCI in:
• Chamber management and operation
• Promotion of SMEs and women entrepreneurship
• Environmental Preservation
NgCCI has been able to conduct a wide range of activities in
each of the above field.
