Lamjung
CCI was established in 1975 covering 6 different market
centers of Lamjung district. At present, the chamber has 715
members.
It is an autonomous, non-political and nonprofit making
private sector representative organization, affiliated with
Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).
Since its establishment it has been playing a key role in
promoting business sector of Lamjung district. It has
developed entrepreneurial skills to its members and involved
itself to contribute the social, economic, cultural and
educational development of Lamjung district by organizing
training, seminars, observational tour, workshop,
interaction and discussion programs.
Tourism, trade and agriculture are the main economic sectors
of the district. Being main entry point of Annarpurna
circuit and Pilgrimage places like Muktinath, Lamjung has
its own identity. It is full of natural beauty and
resources. The district has good potential of community
based village tourism.
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
LCCI has a 21
member executive committee elected through franchise every
two years. The committee is responsible for formulation and
execution of plans and program under policy framework of
general body. The executive committee consists of a
president, three vice presidents, a general secretary, a sub
general secretary, a treasurer, 13 members including 4
nominated members. In aid of the executive committee 7
different sub-committees are in operation.
SECRETARIAT
The secretariat of the
chamber is in Besishahar. The secretariat is responsible to
carry out the day-to-day activities and to implement the
rules and policies of the chamber. It has 9 staff. The
secretariat provide the following facilities and services
• Training hall, meeting hall, business promotion service,
information on trade and industry, computer service, OHP
service, fax service, photocopy service, telephone service,
publication service (Bi-monthly bulletin, members'
directory) etc.
MAJOR ACTIVITY COMPONENTS
• Creating
awareness and providing support for promoting business and
industrial efforts, quality environment and industrial
relation.
• Assisting in socio-economic development of the district
through the promotion of business and industry.
• Developing capacity of its members and entrepreneurs
through training, workshop, seminar, meeting, discussion,
observation, interaction and chamber visits.
• Providing business and technological information.
• Providing advocacy and consultancy service
• Contributing in environmental management of headquarters
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES ORGANIZED BY CHAMBER
o Awarding the students scoring highest marks in the S.LC
examination in the district.
o Financial assistance to the victim of natural calamities
o Fruit distribution to the patients admitted in the
hospital
o Organizing games and other programs
o Economical assistance for the social institutions
o Cultural programs organized to promote local culture
REPRESENTATION OF CHAMBER
LCCI has been developed as an essential part of
socio-economic development process of Lamjung district.
Therefore it represents different committees formed in the
district by different authorities.

PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM WITH OTHER ORGANIZATION:
Chamber Partnership Program(CPP):
CPP is a joint project between Pokhara Chamber of Commerce
and Industry (PCCI) and Handwerkskammer Rheinhessen (HWK),
Mainz/Germany in participation with Baglung, Tanahun,
Lamjung and Nepalgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The
program is in operation since January 2004. Lamjung CCI is
one of the active partner chambers of CPP.
The program supports Lamjung CCI in:
• Chamber management and operation
• Promotion of SMEs and women entrepreneurship
• Environmental Preservation
After joining the hands of partnership, Lamjung CCI has been
able to conduct a number of activities in the above
mentioned areas.
